The desert

A woke up by the sound of an intruder, or well Jeffrey coming in my room. It was six o'clock, Jim's wake up time! After waiting for a bit he came down. I texted him to put the dog away, because she would be barking, but he didn't understand. So when I went to say goodbye, the dog went on a rampage, so much barking, so early.... After a couple of minutes, literally minutes, Amanda calmed down from her endless barking. One thing was for sure, everybody was awake, so we could all say goodbyes. We couldn't thank him enough for taking us in and taking such good care of us, Jim truely is a wonderful man, with only good traits to his name, including having the biggest heart I have ever seen. But at some point he had to go to work and we had to go back to bed... Second time waking up was somewhat better, I felt rejuvenated! First things first, get my suitcase done. I ripped a part of it and as Lori is a wonderful sewer, she agreed to help me. After a quick and really good job I could pack again. But Lori followed me and as it turned out, I did everything wrong! So after a quick lesson about the right way for packing, everyhting fitted, unbelievable! But this took some time so we really had to head out, because we had a six hour drive in front of us! So after cleaning up, loading the car and taking a group picture we said goodbye. Lori: She is something else; really nce, really spirited and really youthfull. Everything she does, she does diligently. She took better care of us than our mothers would, while almost seeming to be in the same agegroup. She is a textbook example of 'Cool aunt'. So with pain in our hearts we left the premises and went on our way! Desert, desert, green and desert. The vast nothingness of the Desert was only disturbed by the ocational planted green field, it was a really weird contrast! A really short story about a long trip, but what more to say about a lot of sand, rocks and cactii. But very abrubtly the sand gave away for a skyline! Phoenix ahoi! We arrived at Scottsdale, where we met up with Kathryn and Oscar and checked in the hotel. Kat had to rise at 4.30 so she went home shortly after! Good thing though, as it was Jelle's birthday, so we had to go to Hooters! Good, well priced burgers and chicken wings and ofcourse Hootergirls, just a fun way to celebrate a birthday with a couple of dudes! After the food and the two pitchers of beer we went back to the hotel to get our drinking on! Codename; Vodka! 'Kingzen' and the 'Piramidespel' gave us nice pace! So in no time we were all more than tipsy and ordered a cab. A four person cab, with five people, we're dumbasses! We arrived at the strip in one piece though. However, another screwup, we didn't bring our passports. They are big and annoying and we haven't had to use them before, so we didn't bring them. Big mistake. Arizona turns out to have a really strict policy for accepting I.D.s so we didn't get in anywhere. After being ripped off by the cabbie who took us back, the evening was just a failure, so we went to bed defeated!
