Snooze... Snooze... To hell with working out, snooze... Ten hours of sleep were more than welcome! So a quick routine, a shower and prebooking the next hotel and we were on our way! First stop crater lake! A windy road through the forest, fun, but sometimes a bit scary. A construction site held us up for a bit, but the nice stopsign girl kept us company! After two hours we arrived at the entrance, crater lake nowhere to be seen. But then we started climbing and climbing and some more climbing. The top... it's not that we are slow in particular, but we just didn't think it through; when crater lake is a remnant of an enourmes exploded vulcano, it is probably pretty high, but we found out from the view... Everywhere we looked just awesome. One sids, crater lake; a sight that makes your head spin, your stomach turn over and to question your eyesight. A-stounding. A skyblue lake with almost no waves, sides which are fully accesable by public with no railing and a very steep drop, to a lake with a vulcano inside the vulcano. We just couldn't figure out how far the water was, there was no comparison. It looked like you could just jump in, but we'd say about fifty, at max 100 meters below. Try 250 on for size. Just everything was mind boggling in this lake, magnificent. While driving around the lake to see it from multiple angles, everytime seeming to see it for the first time. We also encountered; a view the other way that blew us away and even showed us our next stop, almost tame chipmunks, which, as long as you have some food, will even sit on your hand (got some awesome videos of those rascals) and snow, while it was 28℃ degrees outside, what the hell... But at some point we just had to leave, we had a more things to see! Next up mt Shasta. The drive wasn't unusual, though we did learn that its illegal to fil up your own car (without fine luckily). The mountain was very unusual though, in sight for the whole two hours, just getting gradually bigger and to what extend. A giant of a mountain, litterally piercing the clouds, making the (pretty high) mountains next to it seem like friendly hills. A magnificent sight. We drove through Weed(hehe) to get to mt shasta village, where we turned out to have one of the worst views, so we just ventured on! On to crescent city! A beautiful drive through the hills with a gorgeous sunset was a nice ending to this astounding day.
